This is how close I came to being one toe lighter today. Long story short- dishes were getting put away, this knife was on the counter, a guardian angel made my feet move faster than I've ever been able to make them move, then I took the photo.
I met this man today who was blind. He has never had the gift of sight yet he's learned to adjust and make the most of his situation. He was super cool and as quick-witted as they come. He was an inspiration today.
Yesterday afternoon my friend Brent was ice fishing about five minutes from an assignment I was shooting so I headed over there to see how things were going and this is his shanty.
Sorry for the lack of photos. I shot four videos, all hockey games, this last weekend so it was pretty busy. I was going to post some photos from the video but it just didn't feel right, or look right, yet. On to the blog.
This car was so close for the duration of my commute to work that I felt the need to share the moment. Today I was paid back for all those times I would be driving behind a Buick and wishing they would go faster.
Gerald's great grandfather was in the Civil War and I before he could pose a picture of himself showing me the photo, I took a picture of him looking for the photo. so sneaky. Gerald was cool anyhow, he was telling me how much he enjoyed the internet and how it took him a while to get used to it because of his age. However his son works for IBM so Gerald's at an unfair advantage. Add to that a pocket protector (with ruler) and you have man who's ready for anything. Thanks for the conversation Gerald.
Since I'm the evening shooter and it's that time of year again, I've been shooting a lot of hockey lately. I shot these two guys watching hockey from the exact same location and here are the two shots. One was shot yesterday, the other one today.
These guys were skating at a local park today. One had the Santa hat, the other was skating with skates he received for Christmas. It was actually difficult making a useable image because so much of the graffiti on the skate ramps were a tad inappropriate. Oh well, the kids were cool.
These are from a few months back from my trip to Dallas,Texas. Just got the film processed so here are a few. The Taco Bueno is good (not as good as Taco Jose in Houston) and the burger is from Whataburger, a popular burger restaurant chain in those parts. The flag photo has some weird marks on it which could either be from leaving the film in my car during different temperatures, or the processors fault, I wish I knew.
Fellow photographer Wendy Torello has a sister (Leslie) that makes delicious baked goods. Here are two of them prior to their disappearance in my stomach and they were good. Any awesome food that is sent my way will find its way onto my blog. Sounds like a good deal to me.
