Umbrella

Waiting for the rain to go away in St. Clair, MI. When I interned in Monroe, MI there was a section called Still Life where photographers could enter photos accompanied with quotes. It allowed for a little creative freedom from the everyday norm. Here's my equivalent to that section.

In the first photo, the rider's 1,800 bull lunges forward super fast and the bull rider's face is stopped by that steel gate. I have no idea how that rider wasn't knocked out.
In the second photo the rider is held back by his fellow cowboy's and asked if he's ok.
In the third photo the rider is knocked off the bull but I don't know how that guy did it.

Fishing

There was a nice storm the other evening and this fisherman had the pier to himself because of it.

Bake Sale

This woman was working the 'Bake Sale' table during a fundraiser for her neighbor of 43 years whose house was lost to a fire. Her name is Dorma and she had more will power than I would've had in front of all those baked goods.

Llama

No this is not the mountains of Peru, but instead a llama farm north of Charlevoix, MI. But don't tell this guy that, he's as pround as can be of his heritage. Llamas have banana-shaped ears and Alpacas have straighter ears. So this is a Llama. Possibly one of the coolest, and in this case, stoic, looking animals ever.

I was taking pictures during Mother's Day church service in Algonac, MI and this little girl was having a good time looking back at the congregation.

Pharoah

...that's the name of the snake, a California King Snake owned by the 7th grade science class of Central Middle School. I was there shooting an assignment for something else when the kids started getting out the snake. It reminded me of a snake I had when I was in seventh grade, a yellow rat snake. It was a cool snake until it escaped and I found it five years later, dead, in our house's heating duct.

Big Juan

My girlfriend and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary by eating at one of our favorite restaurants, La Seniorita. It just so happened to be "Big Juan" month where upon ordering the 4lb. Big Juan burrito, one receives a t-shirt. Upon eating the ENTIRE burrito, one gets their picture on the Hall of Fame in La Senorita.

Lamp In My Parking Lot Dumpster

This photo is saturated with artistic meaning. I call it "Lamp In My Parking Lot Dumpster". Go ahead...lose yourself in it.
On a serious note, I do need a lamp and this one would've been great had I thought about testing it out. I'm not above using a dumpster lamp.

Drive-in

This is an old drive-in theatre I passed on Sunday while driving back from an assignment in Sandusky, MI (in the thumb).

Dixie

I was on an assignment and rode in the back of a pickup truck to get from one farm to another. This dog, Dixie, had a sole purpose when a truck was moving, and that was to be in the back of it when it did.
The truck is just an old chevrolet. Like a rock. Both photos were in Sandusky, MI, a cool little town in the MI thumb.

so here's me driving the other day, kind of frustrated because I didn't get much sleep the night before and the photo gods were being unkind on this day. Also, I decided not to drink coffee today and my body always gets angry with that decision.

A local business was giving out FREE ice cream (frozen custard) ! the total giveaway count was 4,881 cones.
